Jessica Huizenga, interim superintendent of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District, has scheduled a meeting with parents Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium of Apponequet Regional High School to talk about the district’s budget problems. On the district website, Huizenga said the schools are facing a budget deficit of $2.5 million which she said could lead to chopping 35 teaching positions and 21 paraprofessional slots, while harming special-education services and increasing class sizes throughout the system. She advised parents to attend the Monday meeting and to check the district website for budget information, at www.freelake.org/pages/Freetown-Lakeville_RSD
