Filling a budget hole left by the large piles of snow in Feburary, selectmen voted Tuesday to move $313,000 from a reserve fund to the snow and ice budget. About $265,000 was budgeted for snow this winter, but expenditures have exceeded $570,000, according to Town Administrator William Friel. “We spent about $12,000 per inch,” he said. Friel also noted that total snowfall this winter is about average, but last month’s storms compensated for low amounts early in the season.
