Selectmen on Monday voted to suspend the liquor license of Joppa Market at 626 Bedford St. for two days, following a recent check for compliance with underage drinking regulations. A clerk at Joppa sold a six-pack of beer to a minor during a sting on Dec. 14, the establishment's second failure, selectmen said. Two other businesses, Tayeh Convenience at 60 Franklin St. and and Jake’s Bar & Grille at 579 West St., also failed the check, selectmen said. As first-time offenders, they received warning letters from selectmen, who followed the recommendations of East Bridgewater Police Chief John E. Cowan.
