High 5
Rocky DeAndrade , Mansfield: The Hornets landed in the Division 1 South final for the third time in four years thanks to the junior floor general’s 17.3 points per game. He had a game-high 21 in the sectional quarters, a 57-48 overtime win vs. Franklin.
Nakira Examond , Greater New Bedford: The sophomore center’s 13.5 points per game in wins over Cohasset (51-38) and Old Colony (54-43) were, while impressive, far overshadowed by her totals in the Division 4 South semifinals. Her 18 points and 18 rebounds helped the Bears defeat top seed and previously undefeated Blue Hills, 57-42.
John Foster , Scituate: The 6-foot-5 Cornell football recruit had his way with the Division 2 South bracket, posting an average of 22 points per game in wins over Falmouth, Hingham, and Sharon. No game was bigger than his 28-point, 18-rebound performance vs. the Eagles, a narrow 83-79 win, to put the Sailors in the South finals.
Dan Gould , North Quincy: In a week in which the Red Raiders received 63 points from their senior guard — 21 per game in three wins — the biggest came at the very end. To cap his 23-point game vs. second-seeded Newton North in the Division 1 South semifinals, Gould hit four key free throws down the stretch to extend his and his twin brother Pat’s final season.
Bridget Herlihy , Braintree: The second-seeded Wamps did not have any issues en route to a Division 1 South finals berth, spurred by the sophomore forward’s 19.3 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game in wins over Quincy (69-24), Stoughton (70-46), and Wellesley (57-33).
