In celebration of its 85th anniversary, the Hanover Historical Society is holding twilight walking tours and narrating stories of the past. The society promises intrigue and gossip from long ago during an April 6 exploration of the Union Cemetery, a graveyard rarely open to the public. “While the dead lay slumbering in their graves we will unearth Hanover’s secret past,” a statement from the society said. Recent twilight tours have included ghost stories and legends about Irish Americans, 18th-century settlers in town, at the historic Stetson House, which was also the site of Hanover’s first tavern.
