Applications are being accepted for the 2013 Mary Jane Pillsbury Memorial Scholarship, which will provide three residents with $500 each to further their education. Two $500 scholarships will be given to Wareham High School seniors who plan to study English, art, or education in college. Applications are available at the high school guidance office and the deadline to apply is April 26. Another $500 scholarship will be awarded to a Wareham resident pursuing a master’s degree in library science; applications are available by e-mailing MJPScholarship@gmail.com, and the deadline is July 1. The scholarship was named after Pillsbury, a longtime employee of the Wareham Free Library and member of the Board of Selectmen who died of cancer in 2008.
