Three new alcohol licenses on warrant

Town Meeting will decide whether to ask the state for three more alcoholic beverage licenses. Selectmen voted to include an article for the Spring Town Meeting warrant to allow one more package store license and two all-alcoholic restaurant licenses. If it passes, the proposal would need state legislative approval. The proposal was triggered by a request from the owner of East Walpole Market and Deli for permission to sell beer and wine. Selectmen decided to ask for two more licenses, as well, to encourage restaurants to move to Walpole.
