Matt Brazel , Hingham: The Harbormen played Marshfield in the Division 1 South final Tuesday night, thanks in large part to the junior captain, who put up two goals and a whopping six assists in an 8-1 win over Barnstable in the semifinals. The forward helped the team average 6.3 tallies in its first three tournament games.
Aaron Clancy , Catholic Memorial: In addition to Easton resident Brendan Collett’s performance — stopping 68 of 72 BC High shots in two games — the freshman forward from Quincy had arguably one of the biggest impacts in the Knights’ Super 8 quarterfinal series win over the Eagles. In the third and deciding game, he assisted on a Liam Coughlin goal before scoring the game-tying tally with less than three minutes left in the third.
Peyton Donato , Duxbury: As a freshman, the defenseman hasn’t gone to the Garden with the Dragons the last two season, but with a pair of goals in an 8-0 win against Tewksbury/Methuen in the Division 2 semifinals Saturday, she is on her way to creating some state championship memories of her own.
Rachel Myette , Duxbury: An 8-0 shutout of surprise Division 2 semifinalist Tewksbury/Methuen was the junior captain’s sixth whitewash in a row and ninth this season. Since she last gave up a goal, Feb. 16 vs. Walpole, the Dragons have outscored opponents 25-0, including 14-0 in three state tournament games.
Jimmy Tierney , Oliver Ames: Canton’s 37 shots on net in the Division 2 South semifinals were not nearly enough against the sophomore netminder. He stopped all 37, marking the third time this season — and the second time by Tierney — the Bulldogs got shut out.
