Residents are invited to help spruce up the town for the spring. On Saturday, a community-wide “Clean Up Green Up Hanson” day will be held. From 9 to 11 a.m., volunteers will be collecting litter around Town Hall and at other locations. Green Hanson, the town environmental group, is organizing the event with help from the Hanson Boy Scouts, Hanson Middle School Builders Club, and the town highway department. Participants are asked to meet at the Town Hall green at 8:30 a.m. Those taking part are requested to bring work gloves, and to wear brightly colored clothing for safety along the road. State Representative Josh Cutler, a Duxbury Democrat, and Mike’s Pizzawill be providing free refreshments for volunteers. For more information, call Sue Gaspar at 781-223-1392 or go to www.greenhanson.org. Those who cannot make the trash pick-up are encouraged to clean up their own yards or streets.
