The A.D. Makepeace Co. plans to open a greenhouse and nursery operation Monday on land it recently bought on Cranberry Highway on the Rochester-Wareham line under the Makepeace Farms name. It will be under management of George Chapman, who had a similar role with the property’s former owners, R.F. Morse, when it operated as Concord Nurseries. The operation will have a full range of perennials and annuals, said Linda M. Burke, vice president for marketing and communication at Makepeace. Long-term plans for the site include development of a retail shopping center, she said.
