The compost area of the Department of Public Works yard behind the Joseph Zapustas skating rink will be open every other Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon until Nov. 16. Access stickers can be purchased onsite or at the Office of the Board of Health at 41 South Main St., for $20, or $10 for residents 62 and older. Stickers are good for one year and are limited to one per household. Leaves, grass clippings, and small brush in paper bags, cardboard boxes, or barrels will be accepted — no large tree branches or plastic bags. Residents can dispose of empty propane tanks, tires, television sets, and computer monitors on site for a nominal fee.
