A community garden is about to be launched at Wheaton Farm, a collaboration of Easton’s agricultural and conservation commissions, and the Friends of Wheaton Farm. Planting is expected to begin on Monday, weather permitting, water will be provided around May 1, and a new parking lot may open in late June, officials said. The gardens are located just off the access road, south of the junction of Bay Road and Prospect Street, and will provide 25 new plots to Easton residents. Fifteen of them are 20 feet by 20 feet (400 square feet), and 10 gardens are 20 feet by 10 feet (200 square feet). Rent is $75 per season for a large garden, and $55 for a small one. More information is available at www.easton.ma.us, or by calling the Planning Department at 508-230-0641.
