Special Town Meeting to vote on fund transfers


Voters at Special Town Meeting on April 22 will decide whether the town should transfer more than $180,000 from various departments to balance its budget for the current fiscal year, which ends June 30. The warrant for the meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at the high school, is posted on the town website, The proposals include: transferring nearly $5,000 from veterans aid to reimburse accumulated compensatory time to the estate of a former employee; transferring $30,000 from Fire Department salaries to the legal budget; and transferring $120,000 from various departments to pay for waste collection. Annual Town Meeting is scheduled for June 10.
