Superintendent finalists named

A search committee has named two finalists for school superintendent: Patricia A. Lally, assistant superintendent in Tewksbury, and Janice E. Rotella, director of curriculum and instruction in Wareham. Lally was a finalist for superintendent earlier this year in Norton, which chose Holbrook Superintendent Joseph Baeta, leading to this search. Vincent Hayward, acting principal of Holbrook Junior-Senior High School and a member of the search committee, said the group interviewed six candidates. Although such searches often have three finalists, Hayward said the committee chose two because they most closely matched the positive attributes found in Baeta, and with time running short before the end of the school year, two candidates would allow a more thorough review. The district received 23 applications. The School Committee is scheduled to interview Lally April 22 and Rotella April 23, then vote April 25.
