Town Meeting preparations

The Finance and Warrant Commission has posted a special report online with its recommendations for the May 6 special and annual Town Meetings at Westwood High School. The special meeting contains seven warrant articles related specifically to the University Station construction project, a mixed-use development slated for the junction of Route 128 and Interstate 95. Included is a proposed development agreement in which the building team, headed by New England Development, would pay the town about $6 million in mitigation fees for schools, roads, traffic calming, and other areas of concern that would be affected by the work, plus $2.5 million in permits and fees. At annual Town Meeting, residents will consider 29 articles, including budget and capital requests.
