Fire district elections

The Wareham Fire District election was held April 13, and incumbent Marybeth Fernandes was ousted from her dual role as treasurer and clerk by 50 or fewer votes in each race. According to the district’s election results, challenger Wendy Lemieux earned 451 votes for clerk and 455 votes for treasurer, narrowly beating Fernandes, who got 410 votes for clerk and 405 for treasurer. The other races in the election were uncontested. George Barrett and John Connolly Jr. were reelected to the Wareham Fire District’s Prudential Committee, and Edward J. Tamagini was reelected to the Board of Water Commissioners.
