In the wake of the bombings at the Boston Marathon, officials of the State Police bomb squad redirected traffic on Route 138 in Canton for three hours Tuesday while they searched a vehicle that had been deemed suspicious. The vehicle, parked near the Bay State School of Appliances, contained propane, hose, and wire, but police found no criminal intent after speaking to the controller of the leased van, according to a statement by Canton police. Police said the bomb squad response was prudent, given events in Boston the previous day.
