Veterans from across the region are invited to a Job and Benefit Information Fair sponsored by the Rotary Club of Braintree on May 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event, which will be hosted at Town Hall, is open to veterans of all eras, reservists, and their families. “I think [these events] are very necessary,” said Richard Walsh, Braintree’s veterans agent. “Part of my job description is outreach to veterans and families, and this is one of the very effective ways to do it.” The event had 13 employers signed up by mid-April, and several veterans’ organizations and representatives from the Department of Veteran Services said they will attend. The event will also have information on benefits, disability claims, bonus applications, GI Bill information, and a women’s veterans support group.
