In late 2010, the 200-ton Colburn School (above) is moved to the back of the old Westwood library’s High Street parking lot next door.
Ground breaks for the new library in the 1874 school building’s former spot.
The old library was closed last fall and later demolished. The town’s Islington branch is open six days a week to handle all library traffic.
Earlier this month, the Colburn School was moved into the old library’s spot.
The new library is slated to open in coming weeks.
Then the Colburn will be repurposed as a bank and condos.
