Tedeschi land purchase meeting

A presentation on two articles for Town Meeting in June — the Right to Farm bylaw and an article concerning the Tedeschi land purchase — will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Public Library Meeting Room. The Right to Farm bylaw would emphasize West Bridgewater’s commitment to supporting and preserving agriculture in town. Darci Schofield, a project manager for the Trust for Public Lands, will explain the trust’s agreement to buy the 74-acre Tedeschi property, formerly called the Hayward Farm, for $1.13 million in an effort to keep it as farmland. “We’re already talking to several farmers interested in possibly purchasing it,” said Schofield. “The agricultural restriction makes the property much more affordable for farmers.”
