Time capsule in the works

Students at Avon Middle High School are working on plans for a time capsule as part of the town’s 125th anniversary. The capsule will be about the size of a pickup truck’s toolbox and will be buried for 25 years, according to principal Sharon Hansen. Students decided the contents should include items that show the styles of the day, as well as records of important events, she said. “It’s been a fun project, and there are so many great skills to learn from it — collaborating, managing time, [learning to] plan and execute a project,” she said. “The hope is that these kids 25 years from now will be able to come back for the unearthing.”
