Boys and Girls Club gala

The Boys and Girls Club of Brockton will trade in tennis shoes for stiletto heels and cocktails at its “Black Tie & Tennis Shoes” fund-raiser Thursday night honoring Tom Shields Jr., the president of Shields Health Care Group and the club’s major contributor. The new club president, former police chief Bill Conlon, will be at the event along with former mayor John Yunits and event cochairmen the Rev. Mark Cregan, Stonehill College president, and Mike Sheehan, CEO of Hill Holliday. The annual fund-raiser will be held in the Shaw’s Center at One Feinberg Way in Brockton from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $150. Black tie is optional.
