Volunteers are needed to pick up litter and debris from the area around Straits Pond and the Weir River Estuary on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The cleanup will be followed by a free cookout at the basketball court and playground next to Straits Pond on Atlantic Avenue. Participants should wear long pants and work gloves. Trash bags will be provided. Check-in stations will be located at the Estuary Center on George Washington Boulevard at the Hull-Hingham line and at 151 Atlantic Ave., as well as at Rocky Beach in Cohasset and the intersection of Rockland and Kilby streets in Hingham.
