A Randolph man has been charged with leaving the scene of the fatal dirt bike accident that killed 14-year-old James Ward Jr. on Dec. 9, according to Russ Eonas, a spokesman for Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz’s office. The crash took place on a private cranberry bog access road off of Darby Station Road, Eonas said. Christopher T. Kelly, 40, of Randolph, is charged with leaving the scene of a recreational vehicle accident causing personal injury, and he pleaded innocent at his arraignment in Plymouth District Court Tuesday, Eonas said. Kelly was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to return to court Aug. 12 for a pretrial conference, according to Eonas. If convicted, Kelly could face a fine of $500 to $1,000, Eonas said. Kelly’s attorney, Jack Atwood, could not be reached for comment.
