Plants donations are needed for a benefit sale for the William E. Sheehan School’s Outdoor Learning Center, a teaching garden and outdoor classroom focused on attracting wildlife, recycling education, a weather center, and sensory and rock gardens. The fund-raiser will take place on May 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Pond Street school’s front lawn. The garden was constructed in 2011 with the help of Boy Scouts, residents, parents, and students who set up fencing and the raised-bed vegetable, perennial, and herb gardens that are at the heart of the 6,500-square-foot learning center. Sheehan parent Linda Walter, a landscape architect, designed the new area. For more information, contact Walter at email@example.com.
