Selectmen approve Comcast Center permit


With concert season set to start this month, selectmen recently approved the season permit for the Comcast Center, and it includes measures to better coordinate police, fire, medical, and in-house emergency services at the venue that holds nearly 20,000 people. “We can almost double the size of the town when they are holding an event,” said Selectman Chairman Olivier Kozlowski. Kozlowski said town police and fire were pleased with the creation of a new unified command center that they believe will improve the safety for concertgoers and hopefully eliminate past problems. He said Live Nation, which operated the center, will determine staffing levels.
