Care packages for the military

The Safe Soldier organization is getting ready to send a new batch of care packages to American military men and women in Afghanistan and Iraq, according to the group’s founder, Weymouth High School student Matthew Bryer. A recent fund-raiser brought in more than $800, enough to pay the postage to send about 60 packages overseas, he said. “We will be doing a districtwide collection in the Weymouth schools from mid-May to early June. We welcome donations, whether monetary or the toiletries we focus on sending,” Bryer said. He said he also needs names and addresses of active-duty personnel who would appreciate receiving a care package.
