Houghs Neck Church welcomes interim minister

The Rev. Felix Carrion has been chosen to help the Houghs Neck Congregational Church through a transition period after the Rev. John Castricum left to serve a church in Bedford. Since Castricum left in early April, the church has been served by a series of guest ministers. Though Carrion delivered his first sermon as interim minister on May 5, the church will hold a welcome celebration next Sunday. The interim appointment "will definitely be at least a year and has the possibility to be extended, and that's based on finding our next pastor," said Jennifer Logue, a church member, who added that Carrion will help the congregation "assess where we are and what we want in a settled pastor." Carrion has experience as both a pastor and in leadership roles at the United Church of Christ.
