Spending questions are the highlight of annual Town Meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the regional high school. One warrant article seeks $256,670 for a variety of equipment purchases, including thermo-imaging gear for the Fire Department, a police cruiser, a technology upgrade for schools, a lift system for Town Hall, and a fire boat pump and radio system. Other articles seek $250,000 to install town water on Cove Street, $30,000 for Water Department building maintenance, and $300,000 for funding the state-mandated trienniaal property evaluation. There is also a citizen petition article seeking $447,096 to rebuild and pave roads in the Pinehurst, Kerwin, Cedar Point, and Oaklawn avenues area. Another article asks to establish a facility assessment committee, which would look into the needs of the Town Hall and fire station. The full warrant is available at www.mattapoisett.net.
