Dedham police are trying to dispel rumors that gangs of teens are instigating fights at Legacy Place, following an assault at the shopping center. At about 8:15 p.m. on April 26, police responded to an incident at Legacy Place in which several men were assaulted, and one was transported to Norwood Hospital with an eye injury. Police Chief Michael d’Entremont said he had seen allegations that teens are always at Legacy Place on the weekends, instigating confrontations with other youths, but added that police had not observed this pattern. “To the contrary, our experience has been that youths are closely monitored when at Legacy Place without parental supervision,” d’Entremont said.
