The Chapter 40B affordable housing law, a temporary moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries, and a demolition delay bylaw are among the measures Norton voters are expected to consider Monday at Town Meeting. The annual Town Meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Norton Middle School, while special Town Meeting, set for 8 p.m., will consider two requests to send to the state Legislature regarding Chapter 40. One is a home-rule petition that would allow Norton to count approved affordable housing units toward the town’s inventory, even if they have not been built; and state legislation changing the law in a similar manner for all communities. The demolition-delay proposal provides for a public review and potential six-month delay in demolition permits being issued for historically significant buildings to allow time to explore alternatives to demolition.
