The new Raynham veterans’ memorial could be finished in time for a dedication toward the end of June, but no date has been set, according to Chris Gallagher, the Sewer Department superintendent and a vice chairman of the committee working on the project. The memorial includes a curved stone wall with a piece of granite bearing the words, “Raynham honors the men and women who have served and are serving around the globe to preserve the cause of freedom.” The memorial, located at Town Hall, was privately funded through monetary and in-kind donations, and would have cost at least $150,000, Gallagher said. “A lot of the tradesmen have really helped out,” he said.
