The agenda for the Annual Town Meeting, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on June 3 at the Carver High School auditorium, includes a town government budget for the fiscal year beginning on July 1, a budget for the North Carver Water District, and funding requests for new town union contracts. The 40-item warrant also includes funding requests for capital items for town departments. The police department is seeking $80,000 for two new police cruisers and $19,000 for new weapons and related gear; the fire department is seeking $45,500 to replace and equip its command car, $40,000 to rehab a water tanker, and $50,000 for new equipment; and the public works department is seeking $55,000 for a truck with a stainless steel body. The school department is seeking $100,000 for a security upgrade to school building entrances among its $500,000 total of building improvement and equipment requests.
