Private investigator assaulted

A private investigator was the victim of an assault earlier this month after a man accused him of following his wife. Milton police received a call at about 10:30 a.m. on May 8 that the investigator had been slapped at Starbucks on Adams Street. While waiting in line to get coffee, the other man asked what kind of car the investigator drove and if he had been trailing his wife. He then struck the investigator with his open hand. The investigator left Starbucks and the suspect followed him to the parking lot of a neighboring bank and continued to slap him in the face. The perpetrator then got into a vehicle with an unknown driver and left the area. Police said they didn’t know whether the investigator was actually following the man’s wife.
