Raynham has a busy political week ahead as Town Meeting gets underway Monday and town officials prepare to hold a meeting Tuesday to discuss the slot parlor proposed for the Raynham Park racetrack. The Town Meeting warrant includes a temporary moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries and directs the town to undertake a planning process that considers regulations issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Raynham Middle School. On Tuesday the town plans to hold a follow-up to an April meeting with the town’s consultants on the proposed slot parlor. The consultants are evaluating the plan submitted by Raynham Park owner George Carney and development partner Greenwood Racing.
