The Foxborough Cultural Council recently awarded nearly $4,000 to area organizations for 2013. Recipients included the Ahern Middle School Parents Advisory Council for a Diego Rivera Traveling Exhibit; the Children’s Museum in Easton’s Science Road Show; and the Foxborough Music Association’s Fall Jazz Concert. The council is one of 351 statewide that awards funds in partnership with the Massachusetts Cultural Council in arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences. Grants range from $50 to $500. The council is required every three years to gather community input into how grant funding should be allocated. Surveys are available at Foxborough Town Hall on South Street, and also at www.surveymonkey.com/s/KG6FVMD. A workshop, planned for Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in the McGinty Conference Room at Town Hall, will offer tips on how to apply for the grants. The deadline for grant applications for 2014 is Oct. 15.
