New assistant principal, new life for high school shop

Memorial Middle School will have an assistant principal and Hull High School will reopen its shop in the fall, according to Superintendent Kathleen Tyrell. The district closed the shop and eliminated the assistant principal position three years ago “reluctantly, because we were having some very, very difficult budget years, but we had always hoped to restore them. I am very pleased that we are able to,” she said. Gregory Kelley, a middle school social studies teacher in West Bridgewater, will take over as assistant principal at Hull’s Memorial Middle School in August, with a salary of $84,000, Tyrell said. The school district is interviewing for a shop teacher and plans to spend about $20,000 updating the shop equipment, she said.
