Cohasset triathlon Sunday raises money to beat juvenile diabetes

The seventh annual Cohasset Triathlon takes place Sunday, with the goal of raising thousands of dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. According to race director Bill Burnett, the event has contributed nearly $1 million over the years to the charity, which is working to find a cure for juvenile diabetes and improve the lives of those with the disease. He said nearly 950 athletes are expected to compete, including Olympian gold medalist Gary Hall Jr. and the team of Dick Hoyt and his son Rick, who has cerebral palsy. This year, Burnett received the prestigious Nancy Jones Diabetes Champion Award from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
