Lands trust offering free yoga series

The Sippican Lands Trust is holding a free yoga series this summer at its Brainard Marsh property off Delano Road, led by guest instructor Angela Curry, who will teach a combination of standard yoga poses along with more concise breathing techniques, said Yelena Sheynin, the trust’s land steward. “If you can do basic yoga, this is perfect for you, ” she said, adding that Curry can adjust for various levels of proficiency, depending on the group that shows up. The program is part of a new direction of the trust, Sheynin said, which offers a variety of mostly free programs, including geocache walks and story walks for children, to highlight the trust’s holdings. The sessions are scheduled for Saturday and Aug. 24, starting at 9 a.m. Participants are advised to bring water, and a yoga mat if they wish, and wear comfortable clothing. Brainard Marsh is located 1 ½ miles down Delano Road from Route 6. No registration is necessary, Sheynin said. For information, visit or call 508-748-3080.
