Former Easton Police Safety Office Darren Mangott has been promoted to the rank of sergeant. Mangott took the oath of office for his new job on June 24. The 12-year-veteran and evidence officer has most recently been overseeing the department’s Detective Division. Among his accomplishments, officials said, was to complete an evidence audit using a new software system that logs items through a bar code. Mangott is filling a position that has gone empty since 2011 with the retirement of Detective Sergeant William Fulcher.
