Commission wants to hear about life at the beach

Beachgoers are invited to share their perceptions and pet peeves about Nantasket Beach in a hearing scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Mary Jeanette Murray Bathhouse. The Metropolitan Beaches Commission, which was created by the Legislature in 2006, wants to hear whether changes it recommended six years ago have had a positive impact. Those recommendations included improved maintenance and security at Nantasket and the other Boston area public beaches owned by the state and managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. “I’m looking forward to hearing from our neighbors and friends in Hull what they feel is working, and not working, at Nantasket Beach,” said state Representative Garrett Bradley of Hingham, a commission member.
