Police said they tracked an alleged bank robber to a nearby apartment and found him hiding in a bedroom closet with a large quantity of cash. David Starck, 33, of Weymouth, was charged with armed robbery, witness intimidation, threats to commit a crime, and resisting arrest, police said. According to police, the robbery occurred at the Eastern Bank at 1150 Washington St. shortly before 5 p.m. on July 26, and the suspect ran toward Mutton Lane and Pleasant Street. With the help of a police canine and two witnesses, police said, the suspect was eventually found in an apartment on Pleasant Street. “It was a combined effort of police, as well as the public,” police Sergeant Ernie Metcalf said of the arrest. “It’s nice to see the community get involved.”
