Michael Miksch was sworn in as police chief at the Board of Selectmen’s meeting last Tuesday. Miksch, who had been police chief in Carver, began his duties in Hanson on Wednesday. After Miksch took his oath from Town Clerk Elizabeth Sloan, selectmen recessed their meeting to hold a brief welcoming reception for the new chief. Police Chief Edward Savage resigned from the position last Oct. 4 after having been placed on paid administrative leave the previous month for unspecified reasons. Arthur Parker, a retired Carver police chief, served as interim chief until last week.
