Town Meeting set for Nov. 18

Selectmen have opened the warrant for a fall Town Meeting, which will be held on Nov. 18. The action comes under Westwood’s new charter, which allows for a second annual meeting in Westwood, if needed, to conduct the town’s business. That followed work on revisions by a Government Study Committee that was approved last year. Among the issues to be raised in November are still-undetermined items to advance the University Station development, which is preparing to break ground at the junction of Route 128 and Interstate 95. Voters gave the 2.5-million-square-foot, mixed-use development the green light in May, but officials at the time said they expected more approvals to be needed as the process moves along.
