Water restrictions in place

Heavy water usage and likelihood of little or no rain in the near future means that Tier 1 watering restrictions remain in effect. The use of automatic sprinklers is banned, and an odd-even system for watering with hand-held hoses is in place. Those with even-numbered street addresses can water on even-numbered days, while those with odd-numbered addresses can water on odd-numbered days. Hand watering is allowed only from 7 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. “Outdoor watering has stretched the system to its limits and created a public safety issue,” according to a statement issued by the Department of Public Works. DPW personnel will be monitoring outside water usage and will contact residents found to be in violation.
