First Communications Center manager appointed

The assistant dispatch supervisor in Hanover, Matthew Tucker, is set to become the first manager of Halifax’s Communications Center. Town Administrator Charlie Seelig said the town is excited to bring Tucker on board. Tucker, who lives in Kingston, was one of about six applicants for the post, which will pay at least $54,000 and was approved by Town Meeting voters in the spring, Seelig said. Tucker will oversee all aspects of the center, which has three full-time and several part-time employees. Tucker worked in Hanover for 10 years, most recently as the assistant dispatch supervisor of the Emergency Communications Center.
