High Five

Sarah Dawson, Mass Drifters Gold 18U: The rising junior at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional was the winning pitcher in a 9-1 five-inning mercy win over the Rhode Island Lightning Elite 18U during Sunday's NE Finest tournament in Plainville. She usually splits time on the mound with Courtney Zambello, but struck out nine in her first complete game of the summer.

Dan King, Walpole Post 104: Walpole was eliminated in the intrastate tournament by Lowell Post 87 with a 6-5 loss on Tuesday, but the rising sophomore at Springfield College was 5 for 9 with 5 RBIs and four runs in three games.

Bob McNiff, Braintree Post 86: A rising junior at Braintree High, the righthander went 7 innings, five of them scoreless, and struck out five against Milford Post 59 in the semifinals of the intrastate championship. Braintree was eliminated with a 3-1 loss in eight innings.

Lorenzo Papa, Brockton Rox: The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Broward College freshman went 4 for 5 with one run and two RBIs in his team's 9-5 win over the Seacoast Mavericks last Sunday. The first baseman's .310 average is good for second on the Rox.

Anthony Perriello, Norwood Post 70: He went 2 for 4 with a double and a single from the No. 3 spot against Lowell Post 87. Post 70 was eliminated from the intrastate championship in the tournament semifinals on Tuesday after a 14-9 loss in Norwood.
