Old Colony Elder Services, based in Brockton, has received a $6,054 grant from the Tufts Health Plan Foundation for the nonprofit’s “It’s About Time’’ program, which helps caregivers improve their lives. Tips include strategies for time management and organizational skills, shortcuts to preparation of nutritious meals, and mindfulness and yoga techniques. The organization also received assistance in “purposeful engagement,” which includes community involvement, volunteerism, and intergenerational programs, as well as caregiver support programs. “Health and wellness programs are critical to healthy aging, but so are programs that change people’s lives through social and purposeful engagement,” said David Abelman, foundation president. A full list of grant recipients is available at www.tuftshealthplanfoundation.
