Reward for fire info

Carver police and the state Fire Marshal’s Office are seeking information from the public on the arson fire that damaged the interior of a Tremont Street house. At about 10:45 p.m. on July 31, firefighters responded to call reporting a fire at the pastoral home on property owned by the Southern New England Assembly of God. The house was vacant, with a new pastor expected to take over the church next month. Fire Chief Craig Weston said firefighters knocked down the fire in about 20 minutes and worked with the Fire Marshal’s Office, which determined that arson was involved and is offering a $5,000 reward for information. Carver police are asking people who may have seen suspicious vehicles or individuals in the area to contact Officer Dennis Rizzuto Jr. at 508-866-2000 or the fire marshal’s confidential tip line at 800-682-9229.
