Walking trails to be dedicated

The town will dedicate new and refurbished walking trails at John J. DeMarco Park next Sunday in a 1 p.m. ceremony. The work was an Eagle Scout service project organized by Boy Scout Robert Neal Borden. With the help of other members of Avon/Holbrook Troop 56, Borden spent four months improving the trails. He also installed rough-hewn benches and a sign relating the history of the site, the former location of the Swedish Lutheran Home. The park is located at 90 North Main St., and the public is invited to the dedication.
